I have started to receive text message spam on my iPhone and I’m very unhappy about it. So I looked into what I could do to stop it and I came across a 2008 article by David Pogue on his New York Times blog. Apple held a press conference yesterday where Steve Jobs acknowledged the problems some people have had with the signal of the new iPhone 4. He pointed out, however, that their AppleCare data show that this is only affecting a tiny, 0.55% of iPhone 4 owners. Consumer Reports states Apple’s Bumper Case alleviates the iPhone 4 signal-loss problem

On July 14th, Consumer Reports distributed this video showing that using Apple’s Bumper Case seems to eliminate the “death grip” holding the lower left side of the new iPhone. The movie is below and the link to their article is at this link.

Also, tomorrow, Apple is holding a press conference to discuss this problem. We all await their discussion and hope for solution that is positive for iPhone 4 owners and potential purchasers (like me).

Consumer Reports Confirms iPhone 4 Design Defect

Lab tests done by Consumer Reports now confirm the presence of a defect in the iPhone 4’s antenna. The defect is specifically where others have reported it, when your finger or hand touches that gap in the antenna in the lower left corner of the iPhone 4. Because of this, they cannot recommend the iPhone 4 although they do rate highly many of the phone’s other features.
