Amboseli National Park is a beautiful 151 square mile area in Kenya that has been covered with intensive agriculture growing along a series of swamps. They are fed by the melting snow on Mount Kilimanjaro. The area is well known for the large number of elephants roaming free on the reserve. Sadly, there was a serious drought at the time of our visit which adversely affected the elephant and other wildlife populations. There was almost no snow cap on Mount Kilimanjaro and the land in Amboseli was very dry with dying vegetation.
