At this time every year, Carmel Valley’s fields come alive, painted with the bright yellow of the Mustard flowers. This photo was taken in the Valley Hills area off Valley Greens Dr. The tractor was sitting in the field and lended contrast in color to the sea of yellow flowers.
This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 6D, EF24-105mm f/4L IS lens, 1/500 sec at f/10, ISO 320 captured on a Lexar 400x SDXC UHS-1 memory card.

I miss seeing beautiful Carmel Valley… will have to take a drive soon.
So many Mustard flowers and California Poppies in bloom right now. It would be a nice drive from where you are as the hills are getting greener now as well.
So calming. I want to go there right now. No more computer screen, just a nice relaxing field 🙂
It’s only about a 7 hour drive from you. Come on up!
Beautiful waves of yellow and bright green…the essence of springtime. I love living in this valley 🙂
Me too.
nice shot. can’t help thinking; that farmer has his work cut out for him.
Thank you Jenny— And this was only a small fraction of the field that was there. Maybe I need a fish-eye lens.
Why do we like fields like this so much? Great subtle line movement through composition. Treat for sore screen eyes!
Thank you Shari. I do like fields like this and when they have this much color, it’s great.
