Hippo Beach on the Masai River, Kenya

On the first day our safari we came to the Mara River in Kenya and the water level was quite low due to the draught. The Hippos were taking advantage of laying out in the sun. There were over one hundred hippos on the bank and sandbars. We named it Hippo Beach.

The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 40D, EF17-40mm f/4L lens, 1/500 sec at f/7.1, ISO 200 on SanDisk Extreme IV Digital Film.
