In the center Sushi platter, the white fish is Hamachi (Yellowtail), the orange-salmon color fish is Sake (Salmon) and the red fish is Maguro (Tuna).

The Sushi in these photographs is made with rice mixed with sweetened rice vinegar and fish or vegetables. Nigri Sushi is rice with something on top (in the center tray) and Makizushi is Sushi in rolls (in the tray at the bottom of the photo).

  2. I love the simplicity of the first photo, but all three photos are beautiful (even to a vegetarian). Gorgeous colors, love all that red. The photos really make the celebration come alive!

    1. Thanks Herb. Happy New Year to you and Lynne too. The lighting is primarily my Canon Speedlite 580 EX with a diffuser over it directed upward to bounce off a beige ceiling. Then I’m post-processing with Nik Software’s Color Efex Pro 4 Photoshop plugin. It helps do some really great things with my images. In fact, I use their whole suite of plugins most of the time, but not exclusively.
