Clouds Over Fes

A view of a hillside in Fes, Morocco

Our next location was Fes, the third largest city in Morocco. It has a population of approximately 1 million (as of 2010). The city has two old medinas, the larger of which is Fes El Bali which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and believed to be one of the world’s largest “car-free urban areas.” (ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fes) The experience of walking through the medina was just amazing, and there will be photos coming.

This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 6D, EF24-105mm f/4L IS lens, 1/640 sec at f/14, ISO 250 captured on a Lexar 400x SDXC UHS-1 memory card

  1. Reminds me of EL Greco’s View of Toledo!
Great shot…photography reproducing the master’s oil.

  2. Marty, I love it when there is a long pause in your email activity. I know you must be traveling, and invariably, when you resume posting, you treat us to a world of wonder. This whole Morocco series is spectacular. Thank you!

And when you find the website that turns this photo into a jigsaw puzzle, I definitely want to order one!

    1. Thank you Laurie… I’m really glad you’re liking the photos. I took so many, that it’s taking a long time for me to select the best ones and work on them. We’ve been home for a few weeks now. I’m only up to the 5th day’s photos and we were there for 2 weeks.

  3. I’m so glad you got this because I recall this scene as one of the most beautiful of the trip. The buildings have an almost golden glow and the clouds were spectacular. You captured all the detail in the buildings . . . would make a crazy jigsaw puzzle!
