This is the colorful side wall of the workshop at the Tiber Canyon Ranch in San Luis Obispo. They have olive groves on the ranch and they produce Tiber Canyon Ranch Olive Oil there. The workshop’s walls have many colors and textures from both paint and weathering and rust. I shot quite a few close-up photographs of these walls. I’ll post some of them over the next few weeks.

The next step is to pour the molten pewter into the high temperature rubber mold Michael created. Photo taken at Windhook.

My brother-in-law Michael is an artist who creates very interesting sculpture in bronze and pewter. He is currently working in pewter and I had a chance to photograph him at work creating pieces for an art show. Here’s a link to view some of his recent work.

Windhook-Logo-upside-down

Michael and my sister-in-law Peggy are the creators of and vision behind Windhook. As I was processing this image, I noticed an interesting design had formed naturally in the molten pewter Michael was working with. There was the Windhook logo (upside-down from my perspective, but right-side up from Michael’s). Just another one of those “strange coincidences in nature” I guess.

Here is another photo from my Getty Center Collection (click here to see the collection). It’s just a wonderful place to explore and photograph.

Eclipse of the Bucket – or – Is the bucket on fire?
Which is it? Or, perhaps it’s both?
