As we approached the rim of Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, I saw this beautiful grove of Acacia trees with the crater floor in the background. I brought two camera bodies with me (so I didn’t have to change lenses from telephoto to wide angle in the dusty savannah). This photo, taken with my, now ancient, Canon EOS D60, EF17-40mm f/4L lens on Lexar Digital Film. It’s a single image processed as an HDR with Photomatix Pro.

  1. Oh how I love these trees . . . many trees near the rim of the crater, becoming fewer and fewer as we went farther down into the crater, until there were none at the bottom. This photo carries me back to Tanzania!
