Point Lobos State Reserve is three miles south of Carmel on Route 1. This location was one of Edward Weston’s favorite places to photograph. He is well known for his incredible series of seascapes and landscapes. After his death in 1958 his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean on Pebbly Beach, later renamed Weston Beach.

  1. I love this – when you first see it, there is 2D shapes, then texture, then shadows, then 3D form – wild!
