Light on the Sahara

Light on the Sahara

Yesterday, I received some very exciting news. One of my images was selected to hang in the Carmel gallery of the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) as part of the 2015 Member’s Juried Exhibition. This is the image (but without the watermark) that I entered into the competition. It was taken just before sunset in the Sahara Desert in Morocco. When I converted it to black and white, it made the light, shapes and shadows very dramatic and I loved how it looked. You can click on it to enlarge it. Opening night for the exhibit will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 5pm and it will stay up until September 19, 2015. The Juror was Richard Gadd, the Director of the Weston Gallery in Carmel and former director of the Monterey Museum of Art. Here is a link to the CPA.

  6. Wow! What an incredible honor and so well deserved. The photograph is breathtaking. It looks like the sand is dancing. I love all the textures that the light shows on the different faces of the sand. Congratulations! (And I am not surprised at all. You are amazing.)
